Simone Biles
Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in Ohio, Columbus. She is considered by many to be one of the most outstanding gymnasts. As an U.S. female gymnast, Biles was the sole gymnast who won four gold medals in the same Games during the 2016 Olympics. Biles was also the first person to win three world titles consecutively. Biles was raised in Spring Texas, in the Houston metropolitan area. She and her sister Adria had been adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone first became interested in the sport of gymnastics when she was just six. Her coach Aimee Borman took her to Bannon's Gymnastix which was where they went for an outing. Biles achieved a silver medal at vault in 2010 and a bronze at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. Biles then advanced to elite-level competitions in 2011. Within less than two years, she became the most successful athlete in her discipline. Biles made headlines for her constant performance her exuberant attitude and the level of challenge she made throughout each competition--vault bars that were uneven, balance beam and ground exercise.
