The only thing of Alexa's art that survives is the photograph. Photographs and painting are connected to form a flat two-dimensional surface that is trompe-l'oeil. In certain places, the three-dimensional space can be seen, for example, near the eye or the hair. Meade occasionally integrates painted models into the environment around them. It allows them to be part of the world the artist has constructed. This way, the line between painting and photography can be dissolved.
